Founded in 1845, the "C.A. Klinger Maschinenfabrik" was nationalized after the Second World War together with four other agricultural machinery companies.
These companies became part of the Kombinat Fortschritt Erntemaschinen
and thus part of the largest agricultural machinery manufacturer in the GDR.
After the political turnaround in 1989, the company was reprivatized and has since been operating under the name Maschinenfabrik Stolpen GmbH.
